President Buhari Approved The Retirement Of Customs Comptroller General.

President Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the voluntary retirement of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Abdullahi Inde
Dikko from the service with effect from Aug. 18.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Nigeria Customs Service, Mr Wale Adeniyi, on Monday in Abuja.
The statement said that Dikko had earlier written to Mr President indicating his desire to voluntarily retire from service with effect from August 18.
“In the letter conveying his acceptance of the retirement, Buhari expressed the appreciation of government for the service which the Comptroller-General has rendered to the nation in the last six years.”

Adeniyi said that in the letter, Dikko expressed his satisfaction with the massive achievements recorded through dogged implementation of his six-point agenda which had modernised the Nigeria Customs Service.
He said that the six-point agenda includes capacity building of officers and men, ICT to maximise the potential of e-Customs, moral rebirth for integrity and enhanced welfare for officers and men.

According to the statement, the agenda also includes collaboration with the stakeholders and coordinated public relations activities to foster mutual understanding.
The statement quoted the outgoing comptroller-general as having urged the personnel to remain focused and support the incoming administration to consolidate on his achievements.
Dikko gave the charge in a valedictory meeting with officers and men at the Headquarters of the Nigeria Customs Service in Abuja.
