Officials continue to assess the damage from floodwaters that have ravaged Texas and Oklahoma this week,
killing at least 18 people,
leaving at least a dozen others missing and
stranding hundreds of motorists. And they are doing so from the air.
Drone footage shows the extent of the flooding in downtown Houston, where nearly another foot of rain fell Tuesday.
Video captured by a drone hovering over the Red River along the
Texas-Oklahoma border Tuesday shows some of what local officials
described as the worst flooding in decades.
In Meyerland, Texas, a drone captured aerial footage of floodwaters from nearby Brays Bayou, where three people were swept away when a Houston Fire Department boat capsized Tuesday morning. At least one of them was killed, and the others are feared dead.
Meanwhile, water breached a dam southwest of Dallas, where the Associated Press reports police have called on people living downstream to evacuate.
