Obasanjo Says I Don't Have Twitter Or Facebook Account As Some People Claim.

Contrary to speculations from several quarters that the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has social media accounts,
especially on Facebook and Twitter, the Balogun of Owu Kingdom has declared that there was no official account on any social media operated by him.
A social media twitter account, @newsvergeonline had yesterday, posted a tweet, claiming that the former President had described the Director of Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party, Presidential Campaign Organisation, PDPPCO, Femi Fani-Kayode, as a “democracy wrecker.”
Checks revealed that the tweet account with name, Olusegun A. Obasanjo posted the story with caption: “Fani-Kayode is a democracy wrecker, who’s very fluent in stupidity. Give him food, and he will sing and do “shoki” dance for you.”
While reacting to the information, Obasanjo on Monday dismissed the account, declaring that all his previous accounts on either Facebook or Twitter had long been blocked.
When our correspondent contacted him at his hilltop residence in Abeokuta to comment on the Twitter account, Obasanjo who was busy playing a traditional game called ‘Ayo’ with a friend said: “I don’t know where this came from. I don’t have any account on either the Facebook or Twitter again, go and block it,” Obasanjo instructed.
The former president however used the opportunity to caution those using his name to operate illegal social media accounts, warning that, “the security agencies have been placed on alert to fish out the perpetrators.
“Let me say that, nemesis will catch up with anyone doing this. It is illegal and criminal. If I have to pass any message to the good people of Nigeria, I know how to go about it with no controversy,” he said.
When our correspondent checked the Twitter account @SegunObasanjo, the social media platform returned a message that read: “Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!”
