The patient, who has been confirmed Lassa positive, is now at the Accident and Emergency unit of LUTH where he is being isolated.
The name of the Lassa patient is Ahmed Fasasi, a 25-year old male and was brought in to LUTH Frriday evening.
Lagos Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris confirmed it to P.M.NEWS on phone a few minutes ago, saying that the patient is from the Ahmadu Bello Univeristy, ABU, Zaria, Kaduna State.

Idris said government would issue a release Saturday and begin tracing the people the patient has had contact with.
The patient is said to have just arrived from the north. He has already been isolated, as containment area is being devised, with ribavirin available, according to Chief Medical Director, Accident and Emergency of LUTH.
The theatre at the Accident and Emergency Unit is to be used as isolation ward, while the teaching hospital said there is no need to panic as movement has been restricted to the Accident and Emergency Unit.
