President Muhammadu Buhari is presently meeting with governors to
discuss the state of the nation with the nagging unpaid salaries of
civil servants top of the bill.
On his official Twitter account,
Buhari wrote that he was presently meeting with governors although
details of the meeting was not given. “@MBuhari is currently meeting
Governors from all the states in Abuja,” he wrote.
It would be
recalled that Buhari agreed to meet governors over the huge salaries and
allowances owed workers. “The President has graciously accepted our
overtures to him to help us. Some of us are owing workers over nine
months salary arrears and this has brought activities in the public
service to a standstill. We hope the President helps this time,” a top
government official in Osun State, one of the worst hit states said.
Salaries owed to state workers are estimated at N110 billion.
