Raw power doesn’t necessarily translate into the best user experience and for Samsung, that’s a good thing. According to a thorough technical review of Samsung’s brand new flagship Galaxy S5, the soon-to-be-released handset doesn’t
measure up to HTC’s new One (M8) or even the six-month-old iPhone 5s in terms of performance.
When it comes to reviewing a phone from a technical standpoint and covering every imaginable aspect of a device’s performance, Anand Lal Shimpi of AnandTech is the best in the business. This past week, Lal Shimpi and colleague Joshua Ho put Samsung’s new Galaxy S5 to the test and published a massive review that every Android enthusiast should read.
One area of particular interest came on page 7 of the review, where Lal Shimpi and Ho issued the results of a number of performance tests and plotted them alongside other popular smartphones to see how the S5 fares against the competition.
Interestingly, Samsung’s brand new smartphone was almost always bested by Apple’s six-month-old iPhone 5s. The new flagship HTC One (M8) also topped Samsung’s new flagship phone in a number of key tests.
