In a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, Adeniyi stated categorically why the petition against Shittu is false and should be disregarded.

RE: OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT MUHAMMAD BUHARI PROTEST AGAINST BARRISTER ADEBAYO SHITTU’S NOMINATION AS A MINISTER REPRESENTING
My attention has been drawn to a publication in the P.M Newspaper of October 4, 2015 tagged “OKE-OGUN APC kicks against Presidnt Buhari’s choice of Shittu as ministerial nominee”, authored by the faceless All Progressives Congress Youth Assembly in Oke-Ogun, Oyo state.
I keenly observed that one failed politician and unsuccessful candidate is using the media to steal Barrister Adebayo Shittu’s success in the recently released ministerial nomination.
First and foremost, I want to say categorically that no body or organization in APC bears “All Progressive Congress youth assembly in Oke-Ogun“.
This is evident in my political involvement as the Director General campaign organization of Hon Olasupo Abiodun Adeola, member representing Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Iwajowa, Kajola, federal constituency, no assembly of the above mentioned name exist anywhere in Oyo state let alone in Oke-Ogun.
I shall in turn debunk all the lies and unfounded accusations leveled against my leader Barrister Adebayo Shittu and my legacy party, CPC:
Our detractor says Barr. Shittu has little or no electoral value in Oyo state, that he scored only 2000 votes in 2011 gubernatorial election.
Shittu has no electoral value?
He contested in 1979 general election for Oyo state house of assembly and won.
He was two times commissioner in Oyo state.
In 2011 governorship election result, he got well over 6000 votes in Iseyin local government alone out of 33 LG in Oyo state. The record is with the INEC.
Shittu has persistently engaged in anti-party activities?
This is a typical lie against the personality of Barr. Shittu who was actively involved and laboured entirely in the formation and arrangement of APC in Nigeria. To be precise, being a successful lawyer he was a member of constitution drafting committee, where he employed his wealth of professional and political experience to enhance letters of APC party constitution.
Bayo Shittu worked for and financed Accord party during the last general election?
It is on record which is verifiable , that Barr. Shittu, was the LG collation officer for Shaki west LG in the 2015 governorship election.
In the last general election, during the governorship election precisely, Barr Shittu did not only work for APC but also went on air to campaign and solicit votes of good people of Oyo state to ensure the second term bid of Gov Abiola Ajimobi.
Barr. Shittu’s claims CPC marginalization
In the attempt of the fake youth assembly to deceive my president and Nigerian populace, they ended up by opening the much covered shame of APC leaders in Oyo state.
Barr. Shittu who contested for governorship election in 2011, with 3 senatorial candidates, 14 reps, 32 house of assembly candidates, went into merger arrangements in line with the national directives.
Moreover , Barr. Shittu , when in CPC, had a complete CPC with state executives, LG executives, and all wards in Oyo state had CPC party executives.
Mr president , fellow Nigerians , Barrister Shittu in company of those crowd and teeming party faithfuls entered into the merger of ACN, CPC, ANPP, and some part of APGA in Oyo state.
It is highly disheartening to note that ACN leaders in Oyo state with the exception of Iseyin LG and Olorunsogo LG leaders, defied all the spirit and the letters of APC merger arrangement in the sharing formula of APC party executives. Barr. Shittu was not only ignored but also isolated during the sharing and distribution of party excos at the state. By and large Barr. Shittu has never been invited to APC meeting in Oyo state.
Another adulterated point raised was that his political appointment was based on his personal relationship by Gov Ajimobi.
Alhaji Oladimeji and Deaconess Esther Adedokun, were appointed by Gov Ajimobi as commissioner and special Adviser respectively based on inter-personal relationship between the duo and Gov Ajimobi. Abideen Oladimeji hails from Ile-iba in Oja-oba area of Ibadan, an area where Gov Ajimobi came from.
Hon Olasupo Abiodun who is currently serving as a member of fed. House of reps was quoted to have been nominated during the APC primaries. I want to say with all emphasis that HON. Olasupo Abiodun was not nominated , he was hotly engaged through primaries against three other contending candidates with the following result.

HON EGUNJOBI SAMUEL = 425 ; IWAJOWA L.G
HON SANGOTIKUN ALEX = 98 ; ISEYIN L.G
HON ANTHONY AJEIGBE = 40 ; IWAJOWA L.G
Our detractor demonstrated their callousness to ill-inform Mr President in order to up-turn Barr. Shittu’s glory.
Lastly , the appointment given to myself as legislative aide to Senator Fatai Buhari representing Oyo North Senatorial District was facilitated by a leader of APC in Iseyin LG, Honourable Dauda Wasiu popularly known as Asusu. Thus, appointing me was sheer coincidence, not because I belong to CPC legacy family.
By and large, the author of this petition used fictitious names as president and secretary of their imaginary APC Youth Assembly to deceive our amiable president and good people of Nigeria that Shittu was rejected at home.
Again, to further establish the fraudulent act, it was discovered that all petitions written against Barrister Adebayo Shittu was authored by a failed politician who sent them to PM Newspaper, Nigeria Tribune to mention a view.
To this end, I implore our performing president to see this petition as one of the many perturbations occasioned to foot drag your laudable appointments and positive internationally rated method of administering Nigeria.
Sir, kindly treat this deranged petition as one of those before it. All the allegations are ill-conceived, far from the truth and an attempt to surreptitiously dispossess Shittu’s successful story, thus, kindly uphold Barrister Shittu’s nomination as minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, be sure of his accomplishment in your anti-corruption crusade.
