Vetland Grammar School Recognize Its Past Principal As It Clock 35.

The 35th years anniversary Cake.


There is a saying that a journey of a thousand mile start with a
step,that was how one of the old students of Vetland Grammar School Old Students Association (VETOSAN) describe the event when the school turn 35 years.

          It was a colourful event on 24th October, 2015 as the royal colour filled the air with members of old students association putting on their Aso Ebi which was a royal colour purple. It could be seen as most old students of the association were in joyful mood to see their old friends, former teachers and various principal they pass through when they were students in the great school that shape their life’s and make them what they are today.

The program started with an opening prayer when all guest at the occasion were seated, the opening prayer was led by vice president of the association Pastor Abraham Oyedele who pray for the progress of the school and the association.

The program was anchor by one of Nigerian seasoned on air personality on Faaji 106.5FM ‘Dapo Oshin’ who is also an old student of the association of 1996 Sets. Next on the program of event was the national and school anthem which was rendered by the present students of the school, this took most old students down memory lane former Senior Boy of 1997 set in person of Mr Kehinde Ogunleye also joined the student in reciting the school anthem.

          The opening speech for the day was delivered by the president of Vetland Grammar School Old Students Association (VETOSAN) in person of Hon Oluyinka Ogundimu a member of Lagos State House of Assembly who use the medium to welcome all and sundering for gracing the occasion, in his speech he encourage members who are yet to join to do so. He mention few projects that the association as embark upon and promise that more project are still coming to better the learning of our junior one in school.

There was a cultural performance by the present students that shows case our beautiful culture and tradition which was welcome old students of the school, according to them they feel at home with the cultural performance.

The present principal of the school in person of Mrs A.A. Aiyerin thank all the old student of the school for what they have done for the school, she admonish them not to rest on their strength and continue to do more for their alma mater. Mrs Aiyerin use the medium to inform the congregation that she will be retiring from service by December this year 2015 and urge them to be present at the occasion.

          There was another beautiful performance by the students immediately after the principal speech which got the whole members standing on their feet to watch the performance, the president of the association; teacher and member came out to appreciate the students.

One of the beehives of the event was the presentation of award to the past principal since inception and present time; the award was also given to the students for their academic performance at various levels. They took turns to take their award which was presented by the president of the association Hon Oluyinka Ogundimu.

The president of the association launches the sticker for the association in which he call all sets starting from 1983-2000 to come out and launch the sticker with some amount which will in turn a form of generating money to the purse of the association.

1996 sets old students were very happy when the site one of their own Mr Agboola Kazeem, who was also happy to see all of them again after about 19 years ago.

It was time to eat and dance as the D.J was on hand to dish out good music for members of the association, members, Excos and other guest came together to cut the 35 years anniversary cake of Vetland Old Student Association.

          Closing remark was said by Barrister Najeem Adebagbo on behalf of all the committee and members of the association for their love and support and making the program a successful one.

The closing prayer was said Mr Bello Abdulsemiu, and the programs came to an end with member taking pictures, eating, dance and exchanging pleasantry with old friends they have seen for long time.
