Nigeria Police Arrest Fake Solider In Ogun State, Nigeria

Suspect
Police Detectives attached to Onipanun Division of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested Ayodele Adedeji of Jackross, Iyana Iyesi, Ota for parading himself as a soldier in the Nigerian Army.
The suspect, who was monitored for some time by members of the public in the area, was accosted while the members of the community called the attention of a sergeant in the Nigerian army who resides in that community to
ascertain if Adedeji was a genuine military man.
After interrogating Adedeji and the sergeant was not satisfied with the suspect’s explanation, hed handed him over to the police.
During police interrogation, the suspect confessed to be a fake soldier who had been impersonating for long.

He stated further that his elder brother was in the Army and he died some years back before he picked up all his uniforms and accoutrements for use.
Items recovered from the suspect included two pairs of complete Nigerian Army uniforms,fake NA ID card, jungle boots, dummy gun, and other accoutrements of the Nigerian Army.
The Commissioner of Police CP Abdulmajid Ali directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Investigation and Intelligence in Ogun State to thoroughly investigate the matter to know if the suspect was involved in kidnapping,land speculation, armed robbery for proper prosecution of the case.

In another incident, police Detectives attached to Sagamu Division of the Ogun State Police command have arrested a middle aged man identified as Dabeshi Umoru, 37, of Dadajira Street, Sabo, Sagamu for defiling a 7-year-old girl.
The father of the victim, who reported the incident to the police,said the suspect had forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of his daughter.
The suspect did not deny the allegation according to DSP Muyinwa Odejobi, the Ogun State Police image maker who said the suspect will be charged to court immediately investigation is concluded.

The case has been transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, Eleweran, Abeokuta.
The state Commissioner of Police condemned the act and vowed to deal decisively with anyone caught in the barbaric act in the state.
He warned parents and guardians not to entrust their young ones in the hands of undesirable and criminally-minded elements.
